The Karachi Port handled 140,938 tonnes of cargo comprising 134,776 tonnes of import cargo and 6,162 tonnes of export cargo including NA loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 134,776 tonnes comprised of 51,657 tonnes of containerised cargo; 6,267 tonnes of general cargo; 29,048 tonnes of bulk cargo: 23,115 tonnes of coal; 3,745 tonnes of seeds; 2,188 tonnes of fertilizer and 47,804 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargo of 6,162 tonnes comprised of 6,162 tonnes of containerised cargo. There were five ships namely CMA CGM Pujet, NYK Furano, MT Lahore, Chemroute Brilliant and Chrina carrying containers, oil tankers and coal respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were eight vessels viz. Sima Genesis, Vestholmen, Oriental Nadeshiko, Morning Glory, Clipper Innovation, White Fin, TS Delta and BBC Arizona carrying containers, oil tankers, fertilizer, coal and general cargo respectively currently at the berths. There were three ships namely CSC Coral, M. Gas and Vestholmen carrying oil tankers sailed out to sea on Wednesday, while four ships namely Kota Kaya, Sima Genesis, Xin Nan Tong and Thor Monadic carrying containers and coal respectively are expected to sail on Thursday.

There were four vessels Maliakos, Polo, Navig-8 Gallantry and Dream Beauty carrying containers, oil tanker and vehicle respectively due to arrive on Wednesday while eight vessels viz. Wan Hai-511, Bellavia, Bow Diamond, Zhongji No 1, Bochem Ghent, Tomini Destiny, Glovis Captain and Izumo carrying containers, oil tankers, coal, vehicle and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 179,062 tonnes comprising 166,389 tonnes of import cargo and 12,673 tonnes of export cargo including 3,706 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 166,389 tonnes includes 34,009 tonnes of diesel oil; 8,997 tonnes of palm oil; 31,500 tonnes of LNG; 1,540 tonnes of LPG; 16,157 tonnes of slag; 1,980 tonnes of soyabean; 14,465 tonnes of coal and 57,741 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 12,673 tonnes includes 12,673 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,706 containers comprising of 3,039 containers import and 667 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.

There were two ships namely MT Al-Soor-II and MT Straum carrying diesel oil and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while two more ships namely MT Al Ghariya and MT Khor Gas carrying LPG and LNG respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of eleven vessels viz. CV Maersk Pittsburg, CV APL Miami, CV Al-Manama, MV Clipper Tenacoius, MV Chang Shan Hai, MV Iris-II, MV Iris Oldendorff, MT Khor Gas, MT Al Ghariya, MT Al-Soor-II and MT Straum currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, slag, coal, soyabean, LNG, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.

As many as fourteen ships namely MV Dione, MV RB Edon, MV YM Miranda, MV Rui Ning-2, MV Freedom Line, MV Asia Emerald-II, MT Globe Tanya, MT DL Navig-8, MT Formosa, MT Silver Philipa, MT Bneinder, MT Zem Gale, MT Spruce-2 and MT Sovereign carrying soyabean, chemical, coal, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were two vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Indus and MT Lion-M carrying containers and furnace oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday. There were six ships namely CV CMA CGM Indus, CV CMA CGM Vergina, CV Tucapel, CV Maersk Izmir, CV TG Poseidon and MT Lion-M carrying containers and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Wednesday. There is one ship namely CV CMA CGM Maupassant carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday.
